YES! There is a connection.Your grandmother and my grandmother were sisters.I don't know what relationship that makes us.My grandmother was indeed Ida Cranfield who married Charles Hamilton Toogood 23 Jun 1928.My father, Neville Hamilton Toogood was their second son.I have digital photos (low quality) of what we think are Frederick Arthur Cranfield and his wife Harriet Newman, including their wedding photo that I could email you if you are interested.I have lots of data on the names you mentioned, I have the same info you mentioned and more, including a generation back from James Cranfield and Hannah Barnes.I can give you more details about births/ marriages of the parents and the children of the ancestors you listed if you wish.In particular I have James Cranfield chr 21 Aug 1803 at Belchamp Otten, Essex, the son of Thomas and Sarah Cranfield. There is some mystery about the mother's name.I have info from parish records as well as census information. Some have the mother called Sarah, and some as Mary so Mary may have been a middle name, or possibly Thomas had more than one wife.I have Thomas and Sarah Cranfield with 12 children.I have an estimation of Thomas Cranfield born about 1768 at Little Yeldham, Essex and Sarah born about 1778 at Belchamp St. Paul, Essex, though according to the IGI she was residing in Belchamp Otten at the time of her marriage.I think the estimated birth dates and places were from census records.
As a point of interest, I have your grandmother in my files listed as a sister of my grandmother.I have a photo of Ida with another sister Muriel but no photo of Doris.I'll have to ask my father if he remembers an Aunty Doris.
What is also interesting is that Harriet Newman's mother was also a Mansfield (Emma), from Belchamp Otten.
