Thomas Kirby b. bet. 1520 - 1525 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England, died about November 14, 1573 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England.He married Joan Smythe July 22, 1548 in Therfirld, Hertfordshire, England.Children were: Thomas, Alice, John, Katherine, Elizabeth, Agnes, John, Henry, Rose, Margaret, and Nicholas.

Thomas's father, Nicholas Kirby was b. 1487 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England, died Bet. July - August 1555 at same location.Wife's name was Joan.Children were: John, Isabell, Rose, Ellen, Thomas, and George.

Nicholas's father was John Kyrkeby b. 1445 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England, died January 22, 1522.Wife's name was Rose.Children were Elyne, Katherine, John, Margaret, Michael, and Nicholas.

A good source of Kirby information is a book called "The Kirby's of New England" by Melatiah Everett Dwight published in 1898.It dosen't take you back to John Kyrkeby but does have a weath of information on later Kirby lines.Your local library should be able to get a copy.
