I am looking for information on a Jacob A. Creek who was my great great great great grandfather. He was born in 1810 in Hampshire County, Virginia (now in W. Virginia). He moved to Fairfield County, Ohio by 1840 were on the census he was listed as CREAK (not sure if it was a typo though or if he changed his name). There in Ohio he had several children including my great3x grandfather Samuel L. Creek.Anyways, there was a John Creek in Fairfield County on the 1830 census who was about 20 years older than Jacob. Not sure if that was his father, but I do not have ANY info. on Jacob's siblings or parents. I do however have a lot of info on Jacob and his wife/children. In 1849 Jacob remarried in Ohio and they moved to Iowa where he lived (and fought w/ the Union in the Civil War) until around 1870 when he and 4 daughters moved to Stewart County, Tennessee. Now most of his sons stayed in the Iowa area, where my Creek family still resides. Jacob is buried in "Iron Valley" of Stewart County, TN. I think Iron Valley was an old post office in the iron ore mines but it is no longer there. Also Iron Valley was in what is today's Tharpe, TN however in the 1960s the area was flooded to create a large park called Land Between the Lakes.Unfortunately I do not know where Jacob is buried.Any help in this matter would be beneficial.
