This a letter written by my husbands grandfather Caleb Creech Feb. 23, 1956.I found it in his mothers bible.It may help you figure out who I am looking for.I too think that the Lee's he mention may have had another name.
CALEB CREECH LETTER:
My Great Great Grandfather Lee Creech, Had Negro slaves in his time.
My Grand father was Rev. Lee Creech, he was a Baptist minister.
My father's name was Elijah Creech
My mothers name was Mary Huff
My Great Great Grnad Mother was Sallie Creech
My Grand mother was Mary Kelly
My wife was Martha Jane House
Her fathers name was Banton House
Her mother's name was Jane Bernard
Mr House's father was James House
His mother's name was Lidalie House

William Clyde Creech Claude Creech Arthur Creech Daisy Creech Dlsie Creech Troy C. Creech Hazel Lee Creech Jack Creech Glen Wayne Creech Brice amd Freddoe Rau passed away as infants
These Records were given to me by Uncle John D. Huff on Feb.23, 1956 in regaards to our Huff Generation and the Cornetts which are our kin Folks too.
My mother's great great granddad was William Huff from North Carolina.
Charley Huff was her grat grand fther
Isaac Huff was my mother's Grand father, he died at the age of 91 yrs. old.
Caleb Huff wass the father of my mother, he died at age 79 yrs. old.
Nancy Lewis was my mother's mother she died at age 66.
Elisha Huff was a brother to Caleb Huff, he was killed by the Rebels in the civil war. they ran him around the house and shot him to death, near where Jake Creech's home now is.He was buried on the little Willie Gilliam farm, where the golf course now is.I have been told the womean had to bury him.His wifes name was Sallie Huff.
Short John Creech's daddy was killed by the Rebel's at the mouth of Big Leather wood.
The Huff's are Dutches's from Holland.
Sam Cornett from Scott Co. Va. on my mothers mother side was my mothers Great Great Grandfather.Katie Cornett was her Great Great Grand mother.
Little Malinda Cornett was my mothers Grand mother she married J. J. Lewis, better known as Jarret Lewis, he was old William Lewis's son.Nancy Huff's mothers mother was a first cousin to Martin and James Lewis and John J. Lewis.
Old Sam Cornette on of the old settlers on the line fork of the Cornetter Family.He used to have a lot of negro slaves and was a great figher in his day.
It's good to keep up with family's and kinfolks, so I have jotted these naes on thes pages this Feb. 23, 1956
Elder Caleb Creech Cumberland, Ky.
Caleb's daughter Daisy Rudell Creech, is my husbands mother, still living.She said that Caleb's siblings were as follows.
Arthur Creech John R. Creech Caleb Creech Issac Creech Irvin Creech Fran (died) early Stella Creech Nancy Hane Creech Laura Creech
Caleb and all his siblings were born in Laurel Co., Ky.
They all later moved to Cumberland, Ky. and were business owners there.
Caleb must have been born Abt. 1895, he was a minister at the Regular Baptist Church in Cumberland, Ky.
