Hi.
Have you any information about Crego ancestors before the settled in Galicia?
I've heard that they probably comes from scottish clan MacGregor, when it was proscribed and MacGregor people adopted Gregor surname and most of them leave their land.
It was on XIV century.
"By an act of the privy council, dated 3d April 1603, all of the name of Macgregor were compelled, on pain of death, to adopt another surname"
Then, my question is if it's quite sure (there's any evidence) that they settled in Galicia on XIII century or is possible that it happened on XIV century, to justify this theory.
It's easy to understand how Gregor becomes Crego if you have some familiarity with penninsular languages. And it's easy that people confused scottish and irish origins.
Thanks for your time and sorry for my poor english.
