Hi Jessie, as you may have read Charles Thomas Creighton (Staff Sergeant 24th Infantry 115th Maryland) is listed as deceased June 1944 France on their website. I have a whole lot of contacts in North East who grew up with CTC, pricipally the Bouchelle family (Doretta Stente ne Bouchelle)still lives there and grew up with CTC after he was abandoned by his father. Several other residents also knew CTC well and he appears on the role of honour in the town square. I have a problem regarding CTC's father who contested the war insurance payout in 1944/45 which was left by CTC (my natural father) to the Bouchelle family. If I can indentify CTC's father by name the puzzle could slot together. Please let me know if you succeed with your enquiries. Many of the state records were destroyed by fire as you will know, which has made tracing difficult.
