Re: Mary Myrtle Creveling married Charles Harvey "Buck" Harp on November 13, 1928. Mary Myrtle Creveling was born to C.E. Creveling and Miss Johanna Dunbar on June 25, 1905. From the book The History of Decatur County: C.E. Creveling and Johanna Dunbar were married Aug 6, 1894. Her father Benjamin Dunbar was a native of Indiana followed agricultural pursuits and came to Iowa previous to the Civil War. He entered land in Decatur County and became a very extensive landowner. C.E. Creveling was born to Clemuel and Eliza Creveling. Clemuel was born Aug 28, 1860in Pennsylvania of English, German and Scotch ancestry and in 1854 emigrated west, locating in Washington county Iowa. In 1856 he came to Decatur county and purchased land in New Buda and Fayette townships and devoted the remainder of his life to the operation of his farm, he died in 1886. His wife, Eliza, was born in Pennsylvania from Pennsylvania-Dutch stock. She died on the old home place in 1895 while she was making her home with C.E. and Johanna (Dunbar) Creveling.
