I have just recently been piecing together the lineage from Robert Crissup down.
Robert married two of my great great grandfather's sisters. They were children of John and Elizabeth Mayfield Webb.
His first marriage was to Julian "Ann" Webb. She was born December 06, 1818 anddied before 1848 Lewis County, Tennessee. They had the following children: Amanda Crissup b. 1839 Green County, Tennessee Louisa J. Crissup b. 1840 Green County, Tennessee John Franklin Crissup b. 1842 Green County, Tennessee
John Franklin Crissup was found in the 1870 Chase County, Cotton Twp., Kansas census with a wife named Mary.I believe this is Mary A. Frank and that they married in 1865.
Children on that Census were:
Robert P. Crissup b. abt. 1866 Julietta Jane Crissup b. abt. 1867 Albert A. Crissup b. abt. 1868 (possibly April 03, 1868) Leonaru Crissup b. abt. 1870 I believe this is "Nora" (Leonora)
I believe there is a Chase County Will which includes the above children.
There was a Eunice Elizabeth Wright b. December 28, 1893 who was a daughter of a Julietta Jane Crissup and Harry Arthur Wright.I also found another marriage in Chase County for a Julietta Crissup. They may be the above Julietta Jane Crissup, daughter of John Franklin Crissup. This information came from Eunice's death records in Basham Hospital, Eureka, Kansas.
Julian Webb Crissup died and Robert married February 09, 1848 Lewis Co. TN. her sister, Elizabeth b. October 09, 1829.
Next door to John Franklin and Mary Crissup in 1870 Chase County, Kansas was the following family living with Robert and Elizabeth Crissup:
Cynthia A. Crissup b. abt 1850 Tennessee
Mary J. Crissup b. abt 1854 Tennessee.I believe Mary married William Sanders August 28, 1870 Chase County, Kansas and had the following children: Walter S. Sanders, Harry A. Sanders, Ida B. Sanders.
William H. Crissup b. abt 1856 Illinois
Robert C. Crissup b. abt. 1859 Missouri
Barbara Crissup b. abt. 1863 Missouri
George Francis Crissup b. abt. 1865 Missouri(probably December 22, 1865 Harrison County, Missouri)Possibly married Clara May Kittsmiller.
James M. Crissup b. about 1868 Kansas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I believe the Crissups were in Effingham County, Illinois prior to moving to Missouri, and that is where William H. was born (specultion).John and Elizabeth Webb removed to there and are buried in Rentfrow Cemetery, rural Shumway. There were also other Crissups in early Effingham County.(Burges Ramsey married Mary Ann Crissup 12 April 1852 in Effingham County, for example.)Also the 1880 Effingham County Census showed this family:
149 Crissup Jasper M 46 Head M Farmer AR OH AR Elizabeth F43 Wife M Keeps House OH OH OH Frank M 23 Son S Works of Farm AR OH OH James M 13 Son S Works of Farm IL AR OH Robert M 12 Son S IL AR OH Brison M 9 Son S IL AR OH Visa F 7 dau S IL AR OH Charles M 4 Son S IL AR OH
150 Crissup William M 24 Head M Farmer IL AR OH Nancy F 31 Wife M Keeps House IN OH PA Allace F 9 Dau S IL IN OH Elizabeth F 9/12Dau (Mar) S IL IN OH
Also, Elizabeth A. Rentfrow m. John F. Crissup July 21, 1880 Effingham County, Illinois. He was the son of Jasper Crisip and Elizabeth Pelty. There were other Crissup marriages in and around Effingham County.
Unfortunately, my Crissup research ends with the Webb sisters, so I will probably not see an Arkansas/Kansas/Oklahoma/Texas/Illinois Crissup tie in.But I am interested in information regarding those descendants of Robert and his wives, or those descending from Elizabeth Rentfrow and John Crissup.
