Re: "Hampton, Luther W, Jr & Wicker, Eleanor Clyburn, THE CROMER FAMILY Beginning in 1752With the Immigration from Germany to South Carolina"
As of July 2002, Luther Hampton's widow Birdie (now Mrs. Louie Miller), 8120 Greenbrook Rd., Columbia, SC 29223; Phone:(803) 788-5671, now has xeroxed copies of the entire Cromer book and has them coil bound. For a copy she charges $50 pp.
I have the electronic database from which the last 571 pages of the 601 pages of this book was produced. I have been successful in breaking the GEDCOM version of the file into five parts, and attaching each to separate emails, so after receipt, they can be reconstituted in whatever genealogy software you use. The advantage of this is speed, cost, and convenience if you intend to build on this information. The disadvantage is the files are rather large, . The warning is because you need to have confidence that you'll be able to store the combined 4.2Mb GEDCOM file, as well as handle the five pieces (the largest is 2.5Mb). I also have this file in Brother's Keeper, PAF3, and Family TreeMaker formats, but these are too large to transmit, except by burning a CD. If you decide you need this form, I'd ask you to pay for the CD and postage. Since I've not done this yet, I don't know exactly what that cost is..
