Hi Larry,
I note with interest that you mention a man named Owings. I have on my tree Rachel Owings (1683-1761) Baltimore.
Her daughter Constance Wilmot married William Cromwell's grandson.
There are many connections between Owings and Cromwells.
And to return to Edith Cromwell's would be relationship to Oliver Cromwell.
I checked his descendancy chart
http://hipweb.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/cromwellcollection/genealogy/heredis/accueil.htmhttp://hipweb.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/cromwellcollection/genealogy/heredis/accueil.htm
Edith (as well as her brothers William, John, ans Joshua) ARE NOT mentioned among Henry's (son of Oliver) children.

But there might be hope -
according to info sent to me from a Cromwell relative,
William Cromwell (1626) was the son of
Richard Cromwell youngest son of Sir Philip Cromwell.
Richard was a brother of OLIVER CROMWELL.
If this info is true, Edith was related to Oliver Cromwell through being his brother's Richard's daughter.
