To build on the correpondence posted here earlier, this is the 1841 census entry for Charles Croswell's family.
1841 census England / Hampshire / East Stratton / District 5, page 3 (census page 6B) Charles Croswell 35 Ag.Lab. Y (= born in county) Rebecca Do. [=ditto] 30 Y Charles Do. 12 Y William Do. 11 Y John Do. 9 Y Rebecca Do. 8 Y Henry Do. 7 Y Cornelius Do. 6 Y Mary Do. 2 Y Stephen Do. 8 months Y
Of the children listed above, nothing further seems to be on record for Henry and Stephen. (The latest Henry could have lived is 1855, when his mother names another son Henry.)
Charles died at sea 1842/43, and his widow Rebecca (Hobbs) raised the children at Guelph and then Peel Twp, Wellington County, with the help of her second husband, George French 1799-1867 of Aynho, Northamptonshire, and his extended family.
There are a number of descendants who follow this genealogy. Thanks to Chuck Nelson for keeping everything in order! My database is on Rootsweb World Connect rmbtoronto.
