Hi Joyce, Sorry for being late in replying but I did try your email adress, but maybe that was not correct. Many thanks for your posting last October on the genforum, I’m sorry that I missed it for so long.
I have struggled to make the link from Thomas b1819 to other Culpin’s in the area of Elton and St Ives.
I would be delighted to exchange information with you.
Thomas Culpin seems to have had a habit of having visitors to the house who ended up being identified as a relative, the census shows a spurious niece in their household in Reading at one time, and so I came to the same conclusion about Stanford E. Mc Lewis (also a rather unlikely name!)
My great-grandfather was Charles b 1845/6 although I have seen an Id card from my Grandfather Charles Henry b1881 that gives his father’s birthday as 19 Nov 1847.
In the next few weeks I shall be going back to the UK and will attempt to scan some of the photos that my mother still has.
I’d be happy to share whatever information I have. Most is not well documented but you are welcome to my existing data in a gedcom format if you wish.
BTW I have finally found the full Culpin one name study which seemed to have disappeared for a while. Best regards Ian
