IZETTA VIOLA SPARKS IZETTA VIOLA SPARKS, 89, of Denton, formerly of Frisco, died Wednesday, May 22, 1991, in the Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1902 in the Little Elm community, daughter of JOHN SPARKS and SALLY GREER SPARKS, and moved to Frisco in 1913.
She received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and an honorary doctorate from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. Miss Sparks was a retired teacher; she taught in Graham, Denton, and North Texas State University, now UNT. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frisco, Delta Kappa Gamma in Denton and the Texas State Teachers Association. She participated in the writing of the history of Frisco.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. LESTER VINSON officiating. Burial will be in Little Elm Cemetery. The family will be at Cantrell Funeral Home in Frisco 7 p.m. tonight for visitation. Survivors include several cousins
