Searching for family of JANET CURTS who received a handmade photo album for Christmas in 1944 from the family of JOHN LEER.There is a of a post card addressed to MR. AND MRS. BILL CURTS, N. HARRISON, ALEXANDRIA, IND.- reads: arrive 7:30 mon evening - having a good time - drove 435 miles in 13 1/2 hours.Signed, Latta. The postcard is postmarked "CUMBERLAND, MD. 1937" This lovelyalbum is handmade - THE COVER, SPINE AND BACK ARE WOODEN AND IT'S HANDCARVED WITHTHE WORD "PHOTOS" ON THE FRONT and dedicated from John Leer, his wife Deana and son, Dale. The album is filled with photos of the Curts family in the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. There are some photos of vacation cabins named "LITTLE'S CABINS" - With a 1930's style "Mickey Mouse" painted on the side of one of the "duplex" cabins.I have no idea where they are located. There's a car parked by one of these tiny cabins and the license tag is dated 1937. There are photos of a beautiful baby girl with Downs Syndrome - she is apparently much loved by her family!!! There are photos of a "flapper" wearing round eyeglasses and a graduation cap and gown (college age) - she is a teacher judging from later photos. There is also a 1950's photo with Dad dressed as SANTA - IT IS A FAMILY CHRISTMAS CARD SIGNED - Joan, Dave, Don, Dan and Chris - great photo!! The album also has a poem handwritten on a page by BARBARA PHERSON. I BOUGHT THIS ALBUM ON EBAY AND WILL GLADLY RETURN IT TO A FAMILY MEMBER AT NO! COST.I PAID VERY LITTLE FOR IT BUT IT SURE IS NICE - MUCH TO NICE NOT TO BE IN THE HANDS OF A FAMILY MEMBER - it's just filled with wonderful family photos. REALLY!!!!NO CHARGE - I'M A GENEALOGIST AND LOVE TO RETURN FAMILY PHOTOS, ETC. WHENEVER POSSIBLE.I DON'T EVEN CHARGE POSTAGE - I just enjoy the "hunt" for the family members.I have been successful on several occasions so PLEASE do not think I have some other motive or that there will be some demand for money - there will NOT be. SINCERELY, JUDY JACKSONVILLE, FLA.
