While living in Philadelphia, Pa., Frederick was a Patriot in the Revolutionary War.He is mentioned as paying a supply tax in 1779, in the city and county of Philadelphia. My grandmother, Nora Cutshall Dixon is a member of the D.A.R. and she went in on this line. Sometime just before 1797 Frederick and his wife Catherine migrated to Greene County, Tn.In 1797 he is listed as being a first elder at Solomon Luthern Church in Greene County.Frederick and Catherine Cutshall were parents of at least five children: John, Christopher (Christian), Elizabeth, Christenah and Margaret. It is thought that John, christenah, and Elizabeth were born in Pennsylvania.Margaret was born in Tennessee and Christopher may have been born in either TN. or PA. In 1808 he was granted 101 acres of land from the state of TN. The cutshalls stayed here in Greene County and there are many, many descendants.
