This article was taken from CONFEDERATE VETERAN magazine, page 438. [this is not my family ,only post articles]. Sergt. F.H. DAGGETT, Co. G, 2nd Reg. MISS. Infantry, was born at New Haven, Conn., April 2, 1844. His father moved his family from Mobile, Ala. in Nov, 1849, to Pontotoc, Miss., where they lived till after the war. He was among the first in the organization of the Pontotoc Minute Men in 1860, and left with the company for the war April 20, 1861. He served in the Virginia Army and participated in all the battles and skirmishes in which the regiment was engaged until the Battle of Gettysburg, Pa., July 1, 1863, in which he was taken prisoner. He was held at Fort Delaware, Del., till June 11, 1865. After returning home he moved to West Point, Miss in Dec.,1866. He was married to MISS BETTIE SHEARER, aPRIL 28, 1869. He was Lieut. Colonel in the Mississippi Division, U.C.V. on the staffs of Generals, Coleman, Lowery and Montgomery respectively. He died June 20, 1911 ,age 67 years.
