I'm still searching for parents ancestors of Ann, Anna, Annie GOULD, b. 14 or 15 May 1741, possibly in RI.
She m. abt. 1760 Deacon Charles DEAKE/DAKE, and they moved to Washington Co., NY, and then Greenfield, Saratoga Co., NY. She is buried in the Daketown cemetery in Greenfield Co., NY with a tombstone inscription stating that she died Dec. 2, 1828 ae 87 yrs., 6 mo., 18 da.
Over the years many researchers (including me) have identified this Anna GOULD as the daughter of Daniel and Mary (BROWN/BROWNE) GOULD of Middleton Co., RI. A will abstract for Daniel GOULD of Middleton, Newport Co., R.I. written June 21, 1756; probated Jan. 3, 1757 mentions: Wife Mary (BROWN?) Gould; daughters Mary, Priscilla, Ann, Waite & Bathsheba Gould & Abigail GREEN, wife of Joseph; sons Daniel & Thomas.
[Contributed by Mrs. Oliver W. Cushman, of Newport, R.I., "ABSTRACTS OF WILLS Probate Records of the Town of Middletown, R.I." NEH&G Register Vol. 122, April 1968, p. 101]
I have been informed that according to "The Gould's of Rhode Island" by Rebecca Gould Mitchell published in Providence in 1875 this Daniel, eldest son of Thomas and Elizabeth (MOTT) Gould, married Mary, eldest daughter of Captain John Browne, MA, in 1717. She then resided in Newport, in her own house (a legacy given her by her grandfather--Captain James Cole).
The children of Daniel and Mary Gould were as follows:
Abigail, Newport, 19th of 9th mo., 1720
Priscilla, Middletown, 15th of 6th mo., 1722
Daniel, Middletown, 20th of 11th mo., 1723
Mary, Middletown, 1st of 11th mo., 1726
Jeremiah, Middletown, 1st of 9th mo 1728
Thomas, Middletown, 25th of 5th mo. 1730
Anne, Middletown, 29th of 3rd mo. 1733 [Note that the third month was probably May or June, but the year of birth is off by seven years!]
Wait, Middletown, 28th of 5th mo. 1738
Abigail married Joseph Greene
Priscilla remained single
Daniel married Eliza Peckham
Mary died of consumption
Jeremiah died at 24, single
Thomas married Alice Chase
Annedied after a short illness 21st of 11th month 1758
[She was therefore NOT the Anna GOULD who m. c. 1760 Charles DEAKE/DAKE!]
Wait became insane and died 7th 12th month 1767
