I believe I may have some helpful information for you. I think Robert Dalgarno was my mother's great grandfather. She was born in Laurencekirk Scotland in 1938 and her mother and father were William and Annie Hutcheon. If we are talking about the same person, I have Robert's medals from the first world war. He received the British War medal (1914-1920) and the Victory Medal. I also have a statue of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus which Robert picked out of the rubble of a wrecked Church in France somewhere during his tour. My family was concentrated in the Laurencekirk area until they all left for Canada between 1955 and 1959. We are now spread from New Brunswick to southern Ontario.
I would be more than happy to give you more info as long as we are talking about the same person. Unfortunately, my grand parents (Hutcheon/Chalmers) and my mother Helen have all passed away so I have no more source of information for filling in the gaps to complete the connection between the Dalgarno's the Hutcheon's and the Adam's.
