Oh well might as well talk about it. It's along time ago.
I'd like to know more about Phil D'andrea and Horace (Priest D'andrea) who were brothers and their father "Whiskers" who founded a community organization on Chicago's south side to help immigrants from Italy in the early 1900's.
Phil was apparently a mob chieftain said to be the man behind or associated with Capone. Horace was his brother a priest who served in the Vatican.
Phil went to jail in the Willie -Bioff Browne scandal which had to do with being convicted of bribing union officials who controlled the motion picture operators union in the 1940's. The motion picture operators (Movie theater projectionists) went on strike against Hollywood.
I believe Frank Nitti went to jail with them and they were pardoned by President Harry Truman in the late 40's and this made front page headlines in the Chicago Tribune which suggested something untoward happened.
Tom Clark, Ramsey Clark's son was the attorney general at the time. President Truman like politicians today sought campaign contributions. In exchange for such contributions favors were dispensed.
