Frances, The name George DAANIEL is very interesting. Martha Julia DANIEL, daughter of Chesley DANIEL and Judith Woodson CHRISTIAN of Granville County, NC married a George DANIEL born 1759 in SC.He is stated by family sources to have been a second cousin of Martha. However, it is the SC connection that makes me look at the DANIELL family. The name Chesley DANIEL is all over my bunch in Burke County, GA.in 1841 a Chesley C. DANIEL was the bondsman for my GGF's (Robert W. DANIEL, Esq) marriage to his second wife, a Julia or Rachel. This same Chesley C. DANIEL (b. about 1815) was a bondsman for the TINLEY (TINSLEY) children in Burke County, GA in 1848.They were the gandchildren of Nancy DANIEL, Robert's older sister born 1799 who married an ERWIN and a WISE. I also know there was a Robert C. DANIEL living in New Hanover County, NC in 1800.I do not know what happened to him but the Robert C. DANIEL living in Burke County, GA had children that we know were born in NC. I also know that James L. DANIEL (1814-1857) was the executor for the estate of an Ann MARSHALL of Washington County, GA in 1847 and the bulk of her estate was left to her son, a Joseph H. LEWIS, and an QUINNEY girl.A grandson name WOODS is also mentioned. James was my GGF's younger brother and I feel this LEWIS family was in someway related to my DANIEL bunch. Do not forget their oldest sister was a Milly (Amelia) DANIEL born 1795.She married William P. TAYLOR and they lived in Washington County, GA. The problem in all genealogy is -- too much of the early stuff is all wrong and many families have been convoluted or commingled to suit the fancy of some of the early researchers.
