This is a desperate lost and found post. My Daniel family is lost and I hope ya'll can help me find them.I have really good documentation on my line from 1850 forward.I have a series of leters written right before the civil war and most written during the war.Because of these letters and census records I know most of the siblings to my ancestor.Where is gets muddie is prior to 1850.My ggg grandfather died sometime between 1845 and 1850, because my ggg grandmother is a widow in the 1850 on the Gordon county GA census. Her name was Eliza and her middle initial is S, T,J, or maybe and L.It is hard to tell on the letters. We don't knowher maiden name and we don't know her husbands name. She also may have been living in Cass/Bartow county GA prior to 1850.Gordon wasn't formed until 1850 so she may never have moved.by about 1858 or so this entire family moved to Broomtown, Cherokee county AL.The children we know about are Melissa ( she vanishes) Mary m. Elijah Perkins 1849 in Cass/ Bartow county GA.the Justice of the Peace was James Stovall William Thomas Daniel m. Elizabeth Stovall ( daughter of the James who was the Justice of the Peace that performed Mary Daniel's ceremony) 1856 in Cass/ Bartow county Ga. One reason I am posting this is that we have wondered if the STovall and Daniel line go further back to the Franklin and Clarke county areas.Elizabeth's parents were James sTovall and Nancy Garner of Franklin. They came to Cass/ Bartow becauase of the land lottery. Her grandparents were George M. Stovall and Susanna Chandler. He also came to Cass/ Bartow.William Thomas Daniel died on his way home from the Vicksburg fight and is buried somewhere outside of Enterprise MS.Elizabeth then moved back to GA. The last child we knowof is Sarah Elizbeth Amanda Daniel, called Amanda. She married Thomas Richardson in Cherokee county Alabama. They later moved to Pittsburg, Tx. Can anyone help?We are really so stuck. If we can just find that missing name prior to 1850 I think we could really go back. They seemed to be educated so I feel that there is a written record somewhere, and heck let's face it there are too many Daniel's in Ga for me not to tie in with some of them.Thank you anyone who can help me with this.
