I obtained a copy of pension documents for Geroge W. Danley, age 70, who applied for invalid pension on Dec. 12, 1890 in Brown Connty, Texas. As I stated in previous followup, my ggrandfather indicated in his pension records that three sons who served with him in Co. C., 2nd Regiment, Ark Cavalry (Union), one of whom was George W. The Texas George W. doesn't match up with age of my granduncle nor does he match with age of the George W. Danby, age 20, enlisted 28 Oct 1863 at Cassville, MOaccording to the Second Regiment, Company C roster posted at http://www.couchgenweb.com/civilwar/nwcoccav.htmhttp://www.couchgenweb.com/civilwar/nwcoccav.htm The Danby men in the roster all match with my ggrandfather and his three oldest sons, which would be consistent with my ggrandfathers pension record statements. The older George W. claims in his application that he served in that unit but he doesn't match anyone in the Second Regiment roster that has been posted. He claims enlistment date of October 31, 1863.It is possible that both George W.s served and older was missed when roster was posted.
I believe that the older George W. was probably son of Hezekiah Danley b. 1788 and if I am correct, brother to my ggrandfather Alfred Thompson Danley, b 30 Mar 1819.
