After I sent my first message to you I discovered that Charlie is your granddad?? He was my granddad, Isom Dansby's, brother. My father, Bill Dansby told us girls many times about Charlie and Hattie. He said that Charlie "ruled the roost" so to speak and when he spoke, Hattie jumped. I have two sisters. My father always affectionatly and kiddingly referred to us girls as "Hattie" and each of his sons in law as "Charlie." I have a photo of Charlie and Hattie taken sometime in the early 1900's if you would like a copy. He looks a little like Colonel Sanders. LOL. I've seen their graves at Ft Washita, OK. If you've never been there...you should visit. You may already know this but that's where all the Dansby family reunions are held.
My Uncle ID Dansby lived in Nevada for a while near Lavada. In fact, I visted her home back in the 70's when I was about 12 when we went to see my uncle.I'm sure I've met Lewis at some point in my life. My dad had 7 brothers and sisters and several uncles and cousins of whom I cannot keep up. There are lots of Dansby's in CA. They seemed to migrate out there en masse after WWII. My daddy and mother lived out there for a while in the 50's then moved back to Texas. Uncle ID, his son,James, and Joe and Thelma Dansby all moved back to Texas from CA in the 80's. Daddy, ID, and Joe have all passed away. Thelma and my cousin, James Dansby still live down at Cedar Creek Lake, in Tool, Texas.
If you would like a picture of "Chah-lie" (as Daddy referred to him)and Hattie, please let me know and I'd be happy to send it to you.
