Will get back either latter today or tomorrow on some issues. In the meantime can you provide me the family of the Bartholomew in the 1860 census. I can verify by the names of the children in the 1860 census if it is my Bartholomew. I never could find my Bartholomew in the 1860 census, but do have him for 1850 and 1870. The SC records show only two Bartholomew Darbys. John Edward had a brother by that name and apparently named his son after his brother. John Edward died on 21 June 1825 in Newberry County. He was only 35, having been born on 14 September 1790. His will is on file in the SC archives. The Pee Dee area is north east of Columbia, SC. It is my understanding that Richard, if a son of Jacob, moved to Newberry County prior to the Revolutionary War, with brothers William and Asa.
