RE: Maurice Darrigan/Dargan/Dorgan--IRE
Hi,
Looking for any of these family members. These Dargans are not directly related to the South Carolina Dargans. They were to have known to live in Canada, Minnesota, North Dakota, Washington, Michigan. They could have also been in Wisconsin and Bangor, ME. Rose Mercier was born in Bangor, ME wife of Joseph Dargan who went West to Washington by his sister Kate and he died there, leaving his wife and children in Minnesota.Any area that is questionable I'll let you know.
Maurice P. Darrigan, Sr. -- Spelled this way on his tombstone. He's buried
in Red Lake Falls, Polk, MN I believe I have a picture of him and Mary
Dady. Born: abt. 1815 Kerry (Tralee County) Ireland, also to have said
family came from Cork, Ireland. Married: Mary Ann Payne (Payne is also a
name in my family tree). Born: Aft. 1841. Probably married in Ireland?
There was also a tale that he came here to America with 3 other brothers the
is that 2 went north and 2 south. I don't know where that came from?
Children of Maurice P. Darrigan, Sr. and Mary Ann Payne
1. Maurice P. Dargan, Jr.: Bn: 12/25/1841 Died: 12/30/1915 Red Lake Falls,
Red Lake, MN (note: Duane Dargon was Clerk of Court in Red Lake in 1988 when
my husband and I and his siblings were searching the Dargans after his
mother had died and was buried in Grand Forks, ND. I guess you could say we
were on a family quest. I think his mother planned it that way. She was a
neat person belonged to the Ford Clan from Casselton, ND) I have his
marriage certificate and it states:

1?. This Maurice was born in 1844 according to the differnce on the dates
given here.
Which wife is the real one! Are there 2 maurice's or just 1? Please stand
up and show yourself! I'll question that!
1?. In Question: I also have Maurice bn in 1841 all the same info except he's
married to Mary Agnes Geremish born: 11/3/1848 in Vermont and died on
2/2/1936. Parents: Father: Dady Geremish and (Unknown).
I do have noted his wife to be Mary Ann Dady Father: Geremiah Dady and
mother: Honora O'Connel, Mary died on 2/2/1936 in Red Lake Falls, Red Lake,
MN
Spelling is it Geremish or is it Geremiah?? Have it both ways! I think its
Geremiah and I also think that this could be the correct name of his wife.
Food for thought. Can they be the same person?
