Alvin Aaron Calhoun, 79, died unexpectedly at his home in Soperton Saturday morning.
Mr. Calhoun was born and reared in Montgomery County, a son of the late M. W. Calhoun and Mrs. Susan Darley Calhoun. He had lived in Soperton for 35 years and prior to his retirement in March, 1966, he had operated the Chevrolet dealership for 33 years.He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Frances Douglas; Three daughters, Mrs. Frankie Ware of Soperton, Mrs. Mary Frances Maros of Indian Lake, Fla., and Miss Ann Calhoun of Soperton; two sisters, Mrs. N. P. Trull and Mrs. George Palmer of Odum Ga.; two brothers, Fred H. Calhoun of Millen and Marvin H. Calhoun of Lyons; 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at four o'clock Sunday in the first Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Brooks officiating.Burial was in Harmony Church Cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Douglas Davis, Robert Ware, Richard Ware, Michael Maros, Jimmy Maros and Bobby Trull.
