Henry b 1774 was the son of Jacob George Daubenspeck b ca 1751.George was the son of Johan Jacob Daubenspeck who came in 1736.
Note, I mentioned Jocob George Daubenspeck as George. This is because it was the custom for most Germans to call themselves by their middle name. The middle name of the father which would be the name known to people outside of the family would be the first name of all sons except the one named after him which would carry his full name.ie Johan Jacob.is his son George became Jacob George.
So you can assume that Henry was George Henry Daubenspeck.
This explains why there are two Johns (Johan) in the same family. When they settled in English speaking area it would not be unusal for the wills, deed, ect to record them by their first name.
When the Daubenspeck came WEST, George, Henry and Lewis and John came to Westmoreland, right away to Butler Co. then on to Clarion Co.The area of Clarion was know then as Armstong Co. Pa.Most of the daus of Johan George with their husbands also went on to Clarion. Two brothers stayed in Butler Co. Pa.Philip and George Jr.
I would look in Clarion Co. Pa. for any deeds and will for Henry.
