1. John Stone Davis was born 19 June 1789. He wasraised in Ballston, Saratoga Co., NY.He removed to Warren, PA. in an early day where he married Freelove Follett.She was born in Buckfield, Cumberland Co. Maine and raised in Warren, PA.By trade John S. Davis was a master carpenter, and followed contracting and building in Warren,PA, and also after his removal to Bureau Co. Ill. in 1855.About the close of the war of 1812 he was drafted but never entered the service.About one year after his son, Ami Lucian Davis,(Amild), came to Bureau County,John Stone Davisfollowed,locating at Heaton's point where he remained about five years.He then moved to Princeton, Ill., where he erected a few buildings.His wife, Freelove, died in 1857 on the farm at Heaton's Point.John Stone Davis was married twice afterward.
John Stone Davis died in Princeton , 30, April, 1867.
