EDGAR A. DAY, son of Abner O. and Almira Day, who came to Wyoming County, NY, in 1834, was born in Gainesville, Wyoming Co., NY, June 10th, 1842. Aug. 6th, 1862, he enlisted in Company A, 130th N.Y. volunteers. He was afterward transferred to a cavalry regiment, and served three years. He was the fourth child born of his father's family, and was by occupation a farmer until 1878, when he was elected sheriff of Wyoming County. He removed to Warsaw, Wyoming Co., Ny in Jan., 1879. He was married June 4th, 1868, to ELIZA P. BISHOP, daughter of Wheeler and Sarah Bishop, of Genesee Falls, NY. They have one child, Satie F. Day. Mr. Day held the office of highway commissioner eight years in Gainesville, NY.
