Last week I was fortunate in receiving a copy (of a copy) of the above book, published in 1899 by Catherine A Deacon.
Norm Deacon from Melbourne had commenced transcribing the book, but he and I are "two finger typists", so my wife Carolyn has volunteered to complete the transcription.
We are hoping to obtain better copies of the charts included in the book, so we can include them with the transcription (some are larger than A3 in size).
When the transcription is complete, we will make it available in Word 97 and Adobe Acrobat file formats.
With the aid of the book, and birth, death and marriage indexes for Victoria and South Australia, I have been able to make connections to a number of families here in Australia.I have also been able to add some marriages, births and deaths for some of those families.
William Archer Deacon emigrated to South Australia, as did two of his sons, Edwin and Firmin. Most of Firmin's family later moved to Victoria.
My great great grandparents Edward and Esther emigrated to Victoria in 1874, with their children Godfrey, Esther Jane and Christopher.
I would welcome contact with any connected families.
