Interested in your Duncan theory. I am a Y-DNA cousin of Moses Duncan of Elbert Co. Ga., who I believe to be son of Henry (had adjoining property). My Ancestor is Ambrose Harrison Duncan (b.c. 1745- d. Granville Co NC 1828). Also, have another Y-DNA cousin, John Duncan, who is said to have married Elizabeth Holtzclaw in circa 1761, Fauquier Co Va. My ancestor living within a few miles of a Blanchflower Duncan Sr. in Bute Co, NC in 1760-70 time frame. This Blanchflower had a son John (who is said to have died young without issue) and another son Blanchflower Jr. who died in 1754 in Truro Parish,Fairfax Co., Va, leaving widow, Mary, and children Gerrard John, "Henry" & James. This Gerrard John Duncan inherited his grandfather estate in Fairfax Co, Va in 1773 and was said to be "late of Rowan Co, NC"Elizabeth Holtzclaw's brother, Henry Holtzclaw, settled in Burke Co, NC (then Rowan). Also, have a record of Henry Holtzclaw in old Granville Co, NC in 1764.This Henry Duncan on Kings Creek in Wilkes Co, NC was living right on the old Wilkes/Burke Co line. Also, Wilhites who married into Deadwylers coming out of Bute Co, NC. Thornton family assoicated with Dove creek Church from Bute Co NC too. Tell me what you think of possibility of Henry being son of Blanchflower Jr. son of Sr, son of Henry, son of Peter Duncan the Elder in Westmoreland Co Va. Just wonder if you have ever considered this possibility.
