Barbara: Am reviewing some of the Hatch and Deane paperwork. Have more info on this Deane line. Had set it aside to concentrate on writing a book about Chester E. Hatch, Sr. and his construction of the Lapeer County, Michigan Courthouse. He started it in 1839 and completed it in 1841. It is still standing and being restored as a museum. Court is at the newer building, but is held at the 1839 courthouse once per year so that it is the oldest active courthouse still in use in MI. Have been 6 years researching. Chauncy Dean was in the 1870 Census at Lapeer. 1870 Census Lapeer Twp., MI Home of mother Mary Dean age 59 b. Scotland Keeping house Harriet Dean age 28 b. Canada at home Chauncy Dean age 21 b.
