Are you descended from Godfrey Dearborn? "... the Dearborn immigrant ancestor [Godfrey] was among the settlers of both Exeter and Hampton, in what was then still part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Born 24 September 1603 in Willoughby, Lincoln, England, Godfrey, his wife Ann and two children --Thomas and Henry-- came to New England in the spring of 1638. (Colonial Families of the United States of America: Volume 4). Four additional children were born in the colony.
If so, we have a connection, but it may be wa-aaay back. Godfrey is my husband Jerry's 9th g.grandfather via his son, Henry Dearborn Sr. (1632-1724)and grandson Samuel (1669-?).Godfreys sons had big families, and with few exceptions,I've only traced those in Jerry's direct line, which includes surnames Batchelder, Sherburne, Kenniston, Gardner and Jaquith.I know there are several prominent Dearborns who married into the Dow family and other well-known lines.I suppose there must be other Dearborn lines unrelated to Godfrey...?
