Terri;
I can't help suspecting a connection between our families. There couldn't be many African American Deas families in Charleston SC.
What is the source of the information you posted? Did you find Robert and Affy Deas in the census? Why do you suspect a plantation connection? Edward Ball's book "Slaves in the family" speaks of the white Deas family and their "Comingtee" plantation. He also speak's of a slave woman named "Affie" at Comingtee.
Would like to work with you on tracing the parents of Robert and Affy. Could be related to my Jane Deas b. 1790.
