In the name of God Amen. I Elijah Deaver of the county and State aforesaid being of sound mind and memory and in good health for a man of my age do make last will and testament. (viz)
I give and bequeath to my wife Arminta Deaver all the Tract of Land on which I now live-all the Stock of Hogs, Cattle Horses and Sheep all the house hole and kitchen Furniture which I have on hand at the time of my Death except that part of my farm which lies between my Spring Branch and its river Baison as the land field. All the above property I will my said Wife Arminta to hold and enjoy during her natural life or widow hood free from the claims of any person or persons whatsoever, if at any time she become over burdened by and increase of Stock she is at liberty through the order of some friend to dispose of such surpluses Stock as she has no use for.
I will that my servant Boy Benjamin be free at my death and to hold and enjoy in his own rights the house he now lives in and that field known as the Land field as above described from the line North to Thomas Lenoir’s line I wish him to enjoy the said field unmolested during his natural life.
I will that my servant Girl Sally at my death that she have liberty to stay on the place as long as she desires that is during the life time of my said wife but to go any time she may wish to do so.
I will that my executors all my notes and property that I may have on hand at my death and see that this my will is carried to effect, and to pay self for his troubles and expence he is at, and what remains I will him to pay all my debts if any and the remainder to equally divide between relations nearest of Kine.
I Appoint as my executor to carry this my will into effect my ole friend N. Edmonston In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty first day of November one thousand eight hundred & fifty five.
