On Ebay, I recently bought a CD called “Baltimore, MD Directory 1840-1841.” It didn’t do me much good finding my RITTER family, but I saw a few DEAVERS:
(This file is D:Baltimore, Maryland 1840-1zBaltimore, MD 1840-1pg123.gif) DEAVER, Stephen, printer, corner Green St. & Burgundy Alley. (Baltimore has many “alleys.") DEAVER, Eliza, 243 N. Howard, Street. DEAVER, E. K., firm of LUCAS & DEAVER, dw Saratoga Street, W. of Chatsworth. (I don’t know what “dw” means.) DEAVER, James, ropemaker, Douglass [sic] E. of Forest.
(This file is D:Baltimore, Maryland 1840-1zBaltimore, MD 1840-1pg125.gif) DEVER, Elizabeth, Light Street, N. of Cross. DEVER, Charles, butcher, Potter St. between Gay & Low. (Gay is a Baltimore street. I don’t recognize ‘Low”) DEVIER, Mrs. Sarah, French St. near East.
