Levi H. Debord b 1 Oct 1827 Washington Co VA, died 6 Nov 1896 in Chilichothe, Ross Co Ohio; married Evaline Ballou. Evaline died 11/24/1914 in Ross Co Ohio.7 children: Rachel, James Wiley, Jane, Mary, Thomas and Nancy. Not sure where they're buried, but presumably Ross Co OH.
Thomas J. Debord was a nephew of Levi's, son of Reuben.He died 20 June 1863 at Lynchburgfrom injuries sustained in the battle of Chancellorvile on 3 May 1863. From family Bible; Thomas J. Debord left home started to Statesville on 11th day of May 1862. Was wounded on the 3rd day of May 183 in the battle of Chancellorville. Admitted to Clayton's hospitl in Lynchburg Va. on the 16th of May 1863, an operation performed on the 18th, taken out he bone of the arm three inches long. Succeeded in finding only aportion of the ball, which was lodged under the shoulder blade. Copious hemorage occurred on the 25th, again on the 31st. On the 1st day of June 1863 opened the wound and fastened the bleeding oepel, immediate disease in the side and brease occurred and he died on the 20th of June 1863, very much immanciated in Lynchburg, Virginia, age 19 yrs, 3 mos. 11 days. Note by HLD: Records show that Thomas J. Debord enlisted 15 Aug 1862 in Iredell Co age 18 yrs.
Benjamin A. Debord b ca 1828; died 7 March 1909 in Alleghany Co NC, buried Mt Zion Methodist Church, Alleghany Co NC; marr Phoebe Long. 6 children: David, Jonathan, Cicero, Mary and Sarah. Phoebe died ca 1893 in probably in Ashe Co NC.Benjamin marr 2nd to Delilah Prichett in 1899.
