Thomas J. Debord was born Saturday, September the 9th day, AD 1843 Thomas J. Debord died June 20th day AD 1863 age 19 yrs 3 mos 11 days Thomas J. Debord left home started to Statesville head quarters as a conscript August 11th day 1862. Was wounded on the 3rd day of May 1863 in the battle of Chancellorville. Admitted to Clayton hospital in Lynchburg VA on the 16th day of May 1863, an operation performed on the 18th, taken out, the bone of the arm 3 inches long. Suceeded in finding only a portion of the ball, which was lodged under the shoulder blade. Copious hemmorage occured on the 25th. Again 31st. On the 1st day of June 1863 opened the wound and fastened the bleeding oepel, immediate disease in the side and brease occured and he died on the 20th day of June 1863.Very much immanciated in Lynchburg, Virginia, age 19 yrs 3 mos 11 days.
