Harold R. Deck Mr. Harold Roy Deck, 69, retired Phillips Petroleum employee and husband of Mrs. Teresa Marie Deck, died at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in St. John Catholic Church. Father Festus Maliwa will be the officiant. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Memory Chapel of Arnold Moore Funeral Residence. Father Maliwa will lead the rosary. Committal prayers, dedication of the grave and final rites will be directed on the family plot in Memorial Park Cemetery by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service.

Harold R. Deck will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of the Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until Wednesday morning.
A native of Lincoln County Oklahoma, Harold Roy Deck was born January 22, 1938 in Chandler. He was the son of the late Carl Deck and Trucille (Blumer) Deck. He began his elementary education in Cushing, Okla. later moving to Buffalo, Missouri where he was graduated with the Senior Class of 1955 from Buffalo High School. He attended Southwest Missouri State College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math and Chemistry in 1959. He continued his education at Purdue University and received a PhD in Organic Chemistry. He began his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company in 1963 in Research and Development. Harold and the former Mrs. Teresa Marie Stermetz were married April 6, 1973 in Bartlesville and they made their first home here. In 1976 they established a small business in Kalamazoo, Mich. and remained there until 1979 when they moved to Houston, Texas. Harold was employed there by A & I Fasteners and in July of 1987 they returned to Bartlesville. He rejoined Phillips Petroleum and worked in the Patent Department and retired in 2000. They continued their home here living in retirement. Harold was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Bartlesville; Hillcrest Country Club; Frank Phillips Men’s Club, former member of B.P.O.E., volunteer at Jane Phillips Medical Center and instrumental in the forming of A.R.C. Harold also enjoyed people, farming, gardening, cooking and Bridge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Teresa Marie Deck, of the home; his daughter, Susan Diane Deck, Bartlesville; his son, Andrew A. Deck and his wife, Becky, Edmond, Okla.; two grandsons, Zachary and Caleb Deck, Edmond, Okla.; a stepson, William A. Allred, Bartlesville; a stepdaughter, Debbie L. Allred, Bartlesville; four step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren and a brother, Carl Edward Deck, Springfield, Missouri. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Toni L. Webster
