NORTH VERNON - Diana Ruth (Stout) Mahan, 62, of North Vernon, died Monday at St. Vincent Hospital.
Born Aug. 1, 1943, she was the daughter of Ivan Stout and Golda Deckard Stout Winter.
She was a homemaker, and had worked at RCA and as a nurse at Park-view Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She was interested in genealogy, proud of the fact she was descended from the Stout family, one of the state's founding families. Her family owned Stout house on Maple Grove Road.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Mahan; five sons, Dallas Rinker of Bloomington, David Rinker (Kim), Daniel Mahan, Tyler Mahan and Jeffery Mahan, all of North Vernon; one daughter, Tiffany Stengel of Warsaw; grandchildren, Brittany Rinker, Dalton Rinker and Christina Deiters; and one great-grandchild, Garrett Deiters.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather, Elvin L. "Jack" Winter.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Friends may call 10 a.m. until services today at the funeral home.
