The very latest data is not included, as it means re-indexing all the names, but right now I've reached the early 1600s in Merendree (near Ghent, in eastern Flanders)
The parish records of Merendree pre 1628 are lost. The oldest birth record of a direct ancestor I've found is Guilliame De Clerck, born 26 jan. 1648. From other sources (documents of landownership, bills etc.) his father's name might have been Judocus and his grandfather's Martin. That's to be confirmed.
Some descendants emigrated to America and I recently came in contact with a few distant relatives. South Africa I've not come accross, however I'm still missing a lot of information on the 19th century.
About the coat of arms: being simple farmers I doubt they would have needed one... Who knows, perhaps earlier on in the dark middle ages. It WOULD be cool, I know :)
