I have an original wedding photograph on the back of which is “Mrs. Oliver Dedecker, 639 Benmoth St., Appleton, WI”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1920, in Cumberland (Barron Co.) WI, and the bride and groom look to be about in their 20s.
I believe this may be the photo of the wedding of Louis and Esther Dedecker, who were married in about 1920.It surely is not of the wedding of Oliver Dedecker and wife Lucy, who were married approximately 1887.
I found Oliver De Decker in the 1910 Appleton, WI census, age 47, living at 639 Benmoth St., a paper maker.Wife was Lucy, age 45, and they had been married 23 yrs. (i.e. 1887).Children were Louis, age 14, and Louise, age 11.By 1920, Louis is listed in the census as age 23, and just married to wife Esther, age 23 – so THEY were married in about 1920.
Get back to me at email@example.com if you are related to Louis or Esther Dedecker, or his parents, Oliver and Lucy.
