A biography/family history of James Deegan is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 1123-1124.Parents: Daniel and Elizabeth (Kelley) Deegan, both born in Queens County, Ireland, but married in Quebec. Daniel immigrated to Canada in young manhood & located to Quebec where he was in the brewing business. He died in Quebec in 1870, age 52. Elizabeth Kelley outlived her husband by a few years and died in Quebec.Of their four children, James was the only one who came to the US.
