My GGG Grandfather was William Deen.It is unclear whether he was born in Illinois or not, but he spent time there in Hamilton County. He is reported to have been born in 1799.He was married at least twice - Jane Coffee (unverified) and Barsheba Durham.Per an entry in the Goodspeed “History of Washington County Arkansas” published in 1888, William and Barsheba had two children - Wiley Durham and a small girl who died in infancy.Apparently, William had at least five other children because let mentioned them in his will recorded in Washington County Arkansas in 1879.Those five children were James, Jacob, Susan, Francis, and Louisa Jane.
William left Illinois for Missouri in the 1840's or 1850's.He returned, apparently, to Illinois during the Civil War, then left to settle in Arkansas in the late 1860's where he bought 200 acres in Washington County.
I don't know if this Jacob is related to you or not.Due to sloppy record keeping/taking or whatever, the surname has been spelled Deen and Dean in various records.
Hope this helps.
