Thank you for your information but I am still confused. The information I have is from "The Name and Family of Hobson,1941 Compiled by THE MEDIA RESEARCH BUREAU, Washington D. C. and the most important from the Mississippi Genealogical society about "history of Francis Hobson and William Hobson, His son servis as soldiers in the war between the states 1861-1865. and then "the History of the Hobson family from earliest settlements in the USA, from the earliest settlement and during and after the Revolutionary war between the Setlers and the other Country. It starts with the oldest member being born in Wales and when he was young and moved to England and married a lady there.Soon after they moved to the new country near Culpeper Courthouse Virginia. The name of this children were Nickolas, Thomas, Archible and Mathew.Nickolas became the captain of his company and fought until he was wounded and blind.Nickolas being an officer was granted 4000 acres in Green County, Alabama. He sent his children Frank, Archible, Mathew, Willa , Agnes and Missouria to go claim it.I neglected to mention that Nickolas Hobson's wife was a Degraftenreid. She had a brother DeGraftenreid, who lived in Chester County, South Carolina. These Hobson children were aiming to stop with their Uncle DeGrafenreid, a few days and rest while on their way to their new home, in Alabama.William Hobson the youngest boy of about 15 or 16 years of age and while there made a trade with his Uncle to stay and work with him instead of going to Alabama. While working for his Uncle DeGraftenreid, he fell in love with a girl who was living there and married her later. This girl Sisely Thomas, Daughter of Col. John Thomas was my Father's Mother and our Grandmother. She was the Sister of Davy Thomas, your mother's grandfather."This letter was written by William S. Hobson, Father of Janie Thomas Hobson Daggett.According to Mrs. Elizabeth Wood Thomas of Tuscaloosa, the parents of the Thomases, including Cicely Thomas Hobson, lised in this Bible under Births, were - James and Susannah Mabry Thomas of Fairfield Co., S.C.I am just wondering if I am confused somewhere because of this referral to the Wife and Uncle Degraftenreid that related to the yongest William?I have seen the old Oliver family tree once and it leads directly to the Baron DeGrafftenreid that settled New Bern so I wonder where the history went wrong in which book?I will have to get my husband to find the old family tree for me to refer to again.I am going by the written accounts in the notebook. Some from the William and Cicely Thomas Hobson bible now owned by Mr. E. W. Hobson - 290 West Outer Drive, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
