Hi Lee,
I have a partial obituary for Meyer DeHeer from the Knoxville area newspaper. His date of death was August 26, 1912 based on his tombstone which is in Graceland Cemetery in Pella, IA.
"Meyer De Heer
Meyer de Heer died at his home on West Franklin street on last Monday evening at 8:15 after a lingering illness of some duration of cancer of the stomach. He was taken seriusly ill some months ago and had not been able to take nourshing food for the past two or three months.
The deceased was 62 years, 8 mo. and 15 days of age at the time of his death and leaves a wife, three daughters, Mrs. H. Ter Louw, Mrs. c. de Geus and Mrs. T. Boot, and three sons, Samuel, Edward and Stephen, all the latter living in Dakota and were unable to be present at the funeral, the daughters all being at the bedside at the time of his death.
The funeral services will take place from the home a 1 o'clock this afternoon and from the First Reforme church at 1:30, Rev. S. van der Werf officiating, aftef which the remains will be laid to their last rest..." There is a hand written note that says: get rest from paper.
