The church records for Zemmin are a real bearcat to get to.They haven't been filmed by the LDS, as so many have, and they are in German, but the church, as you know,is not in Poland, so the priests at the church, etc, can't read the German records that are there. But I located a man on the internet who lives in German, but went there, found the church in Glowitz, and learned that the old German churchbooks were laying in a back room there. He somehow copied (xeroxed?)the books, and for a small "donation" copied from the records about my Dehn family from them for me.However, I have had a computer crash since them, losing my e-mail, and the Dehn family is actually my 82 year old sister's husband's family, and I found it for her, and passed it on to her.
I have searched on the internet, (I remember his name was Helmut) and I am pretty sure I have found the correct e-mail address of the man who has the records.Try e-mailing:
[email protected]
and just ask him if he is the person who has the church records from Glowitz.I HAD his snail mail address, also, and can perhaps get it from my sister. She isn't a genealogist, and passed the info I gave her on to relatives of her husband. Please contact me personally if you need any further info.Good Luck.Judy
