Hi, Martha,
Well, we have bombed out for now.August Ernst (born 1854) died 1855 at Zemmin, of Scarlet fever.I just listed all the children, even the two who died young, so you could see the naming pattern.
Enter Stolp in a search engine, and you will get a lot of stuff, unfortunately mostly in German, (unless you can red German?)But, STolp seems to be a county, or similar section of land. Then, there are little villages in it.It is located in Poland now, up along the north border, just below the Leba sea.
Have you found where your people came over from Stolp?Maybe the ship list would give a village?Or, have you checked the birth certificates, and obituaries of those who came over, and have passed on?I had great luck with obituaries, and yours are recent enough that there are probably obituaries in old newspaper microfilm where they died and are buried.
Dehn isn't a very common name, it seems to me, so very possible our Dehns are related. How do you pronounce your DEHN name?My sisters is pronounced as if it were Dane, but some Dehn families use the Dean pronounciation.Judy
