I am searching for the ancestors and descendants of John E. Dehner, b. 12/27/1837 in Grosselfingen, Hohenzollen, Germany, immigrated to St. Louis at the age of 14, made his home in Lincoln, Illinois with his wife, Elizabeth Braun of St. Louis (m. 1/2/1865 St. Louis), dod 10/4/1910 in Lincoln, Illinois.John E. Dehner and Elizabeth Braun had the following children: Joseph Peter, b. 1/8/1866; John Paul, b. 10/4/1867; William Daniel, b. 1/24/1869; Charles Emil, b. 10/27/1866; Edward, b. 10/15/1873; Albert, b. 9/8/1875/ Fred Wilhelm, b. 5/4/1877; Henry C., b. 8/10/1879; Frances, b. 5/19/1882; George Gabriel, b. 4/24/1884; Flora M., b. 4/7/1888.The first four of these children were born in St. Louis, the remainder in Lincoln, Illinois.
John E. Dehner's mother was Anna Maria(Ruff) Dehner, his father was Gabrielus Dehner (m. 2/11/1822 in Hohenzollern). The mother immigrated and is buried in Lincoln, the life and death of the father is unknown to me.However, the following is a listing of the children of Gabrielus and Anna Maria Dehner:John E., b. 12/27/1837; Paulus, b. 4/18/1835; Peter, b. 6/26/1833; (Franciscus) Josephus, b. 3/18/1842; Caroline, b. 4/17/1825, m. 10/8/1854 to Kreitzberger; Maria, b. 5/10/1840; Terrasah, b. 10/21/1843; Elizabeth, b. 9/21/1829; and Anna, b. 5/3/1831.All of these children were born in Hohenzollern, and all but one of these children (a daughter)immigrated to the United States.The immigrant daughters married men named Kreitzberger, Voehm and Neidersheck.
