I am trying to locate a Morris Dekle from the name written on the back of a photo from the 40's.He is shown in what appears to be a boy scout uniform and looks to be about 11.
Unfortunately, with the southern "double names" I am not certain that Dekle is the last name.Dekle is such an uncommon name, there surely must be a connection somehow.
He is also shown in photos with a Sarah Lee (who looks old enough to be his mother) and again in another photo with Luther Johnson, Sarah Lee,an unidentified female, and Irma (nee Mills) Johnson.Luther Johnson was Irma's 2nd husband.
Sarah Lee also appears in photos with a Jeanette. They are dressed alike, but I do not know if they are twins are not. They are similar in appearance but do not look identical.
Jeanette appears in a photo with my g-grandfather Thomas H. Mills, who I believe lived in the Moultrie, Colquitt, GA area - I say this only because my grandmother was born in Moultrie around 1903.He had 2 children, Irma Mills (my grandmother) and Felton Mills.
Unfortunately, the only writing on the back of my g-grandmother's photo only says "Grandmother Mills" so I do not know her maiden name.
Hopefully, someone can help me identify these people so I can forward this photo to the family of Morris Dekle. All of these photos were sent to my father Oscar Hayward Roberts (only son from Irma's first marriage to Oscar Roberts) when he was in the service in the 1940's and I am certain that they are my family.
I would be more than happy to scan the photos and send them to anyone who may be able to identify Morris Dekle, Sarah Lee and Jeanette.
